In most cases, time deceives us—it makes the past appear distant and vague. How do we understand time? And how do we navigate the phenomena embedded in experience? Yet when we return to the past, treating it as something to be excavated and laid out before us, the effect is often the opposite: the past intervenes once again in the present. These images span four years. I have disrupted and rearranged them, allowing the narrative to fracture and shift. They are delayed by time, refracted through memory, and diluted by emotion; they no longer belong to experience, nor do they carry the weight of time.
