Sivan (Guodong) Yan is a photographer and independent publisher from Hunan, China, currently based in Chicago. He studied railway engineering at Hunan Vocational College of Railway Technology and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Working primarily with gelatin silver photography, his practice explores questions of memory, time, and place. His work and publications have been exhibited in Beijing, Shanghai, New York, and Chicago.
